Active regeneration and parked regeneration both take approximately 45 minutes to complete. Again, it depends on what temperature degree your DPF filter needs to reach to burn off the soot. Trucks equipped with a fuel-borne catalyst take less time and consume less fuel. On average, a truck without a fuel born catalyst takes 1112 degrees
No, petrol cars don’t have a DPF. But they do have an OPF (Otto Particulate Filter). This has been mandatory since 2018 and works to reduce harmful matter from the exhaust pipe. Newer cars have quieter OPFs than older models. How long does a DPF last? If maintained well and driven for longer journeys, a DPF should last up to 100,000 miles.
The active DPF appears to kick in very frequently even with this motorway trip - sometimes after about 5-10 miles of driving after. So, I'm getting an active DPF regen at least once a week, with a 60mile round trip on the motorway and about 15-20 miles of town driving. does this sound right? Cheers Matt
