Tried about 4 times now the game loads upto the profile screen load my profile load into the game and the mouse or keyboard wont do anything at all. Then i have to Ctrl,Alt and Del and close the game. I'm using a DS4 controller and it's not recognized by the game (the Keyboard + Steam Emulated doesn't show up anymore). And Steam's official configuration for ETS2 is a nightmare compared to the ingame version. I used to have my right analogue as Steering and my left analogue as Acelerate up and Brake down, but I can't even do that in Steam's controller configuration, I'm forced to use L2 and First, open the game. You need to have the controller/wheel plugged in. Then, you sign in to your account. Try to navigate to Options --> Controls --> Input Wizard. Input Wizard is on the bottom right. After clicking Input Wizard, go to Controllers. The icon should be a picture of a Steering Wheel, Controller and a Shifter. The old force feedback was a group of artificially set up effects, each of them having its own effect force that had to be sent to the device within the main game loop. Meanwhile, the new FFB is written from scratch and utilizes a 120 Hz refresh rate, independent from the main game loop. It combines some of the old artificial effects with the Controller still is quite good. Amused that people thought to downvote the question. Reddit is a childish place sometimes. You can ask an honest question respectfully and politely, and some will see the need to trash it rather than give a genuinely useful reply like you did. Controller Broken in 1.35 DX11. Not sure if it's a DX11 problem, but my Dualshock 4 controller doesn't work anymore. Game recognizes it as Steam Controller, but joysticks do not move the mouse and cannot select anything in main menu. Working fine before patch and in ATS. The author of this topic has marked a post as the answer to their question.
Nothing I do gets the controller to work. The game recognizes the controller and will set it up using the input wizard but when I go in game, it does absolutely nothing. I've tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, restarting the game(about 20 times now) and deleting it and setting it back up.
Check the wheel with it's software in the case of loosen or unplugged cables. Yeah, check functionality in windows game controller panel first. Then driversoftware, then game. My PC tells me that the steering wheel is operating normally. The drivers have been re-downloaded as has the ATS game/program.
Click on Library > Go to Games under the Browse section. Select Euro Truck Simulator 2 > Click on Manage Games (Gear Icon). Choose Controller Options from the Steam Input option. Click on the drop-down arrow icon to expand the list of ‘Change the Steam Input Per-Game Settings’. Select Forced On > Click on OK to save changes.
